Panel Randomizer

For the ERC-funded ROCKY project, participants are requested to fill in LimeSurvey surveys to perform various linguistic judgement tasks. At the Digital Humanities Lab we have developed a set of tools to facilitate this process: allowing participants to be rotated over various experimental groups and limit their participation to only one survey. The administration of participant keys is encrypted to anonymise the results to allow for a privacy-by-design procedure. This completely prevents the researchers from accessing private information and makes the research process GDPR-compliant. The functionality is implemented in a user-friendly Django web-application. We also developed a client script to better integrate video playback in the surveys itself to have a more controlled online research setting.
