Thematical Networks

The 1920s (also known as the “Roaring Twenties”) seem to be relived in this day and age, with the movie production of The Great Gatsby as prime example. Dr. Iris van der Tuin asked the DH Lab to start a pilot to see whether contemporary philosophy also makes more references to the twenties. To answer this research question, we’ve considered using topic extraction, cluster analysis and a new line of research called semantometrics on a corpus of scientific papers.
